FROM THE FOUNDER'S DESK: KIMBERLY TRACY D'SOUZA
What began as a side hustle in my dining room turned into a full-fledged Speech & Drama Institute with over 10,000 success stories!
Our Vocal Team comprises more family members than “staff' members. We inspire our children to think “out of the box” as no two children are treated alike.
We must thank our examining boards Trinity College London and the University of West London for that- because they give us teachers, exploratory syllabi.
Each child is given various performance repertoires and the freedom of choice. Hence, that makes learning fun!
We’ve ensured that our children have grown from shy and reserved 3-year-olds to smart confident 16-year-olds.
We’ve mapped their trajectory from stage Initial to the graduating grade of 8. It’s no
mean feat and their achievement never goes unrewarded. Today our children are seated in universities all over the WORLD and they’ve used their certificates as a ticket to secure their seats!
I’m extremely grateful to each staff member for their continued dedicated efforts and if you think that Vocal has come a long way since its inception in 2005, then let me reassure you that for us- the journey has just begun
LISA MARI LEWIS

With over 10 years of experience teaching teenagers and young adults, she plays an apt role of being a teacher as well as a mentor and friend as she understands their nature and harnesses their true potential.
She is also the second individual in the country to have been awarded the 'Fellow of London College of Music', the highest award given by the University of West London, making her one of the youngest and most qualified public speaking coaches in the Indian subcontinent.
Having trained over 500 children under the Vocal flagship, your teenage kids couldn't be in better hands!

RACHEL PEREIRA

Rachel Pereira has graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and brings together her background in psychology and teaching to help children grow into confident communicators.
She teaches Speech and Drama at VOCAL, Pune, where she combines psychological insight with engaging teaching methods to nurture confidence, creativity, and effective public speaking skills. With two years of teaching experience, she is passionate about understanding and connecting with people. This passion also extends to her creative pursuits, including reading, baking, music, and creative art. Adding to her profile, she holds an Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) diploma in Communication Skills (Public Speaking). Her warm personality and diverse interests make her a well-rounded individual.

PRIYANKA a.k.a. JENNIFER HINDUJA

Her name may be Priyanka, but she is lovingly addressed by the name Jenny. She has been a part of Vocal since 2011. Her expertise in child psychology & professionalism along with her amiable nature makes her more approachable to her students & their parents. She is currently pursuing her Diploma in Modern Psychology.
She says, "I love interacting with children and I'm intrigued by how each child approaches communication in their own different way. I am a huge music buff and love travelling, cooking and exploring new cuisines so I enjoy bonding over these things with my students. Interacting with children is always the highlight of my day & I find immense joy in teaching all my students."

Priyanka Teaches:
RINKU D'SOUZA

Rinku worked in the corporate world for 8 years but finally found her calling when she began teaching.
She says, "I’m proud to call Vocal my second home. My teaching philosophy is very simple- students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I show my caring by forming relationships with students and trying to help them find their strengths and work on their weaknesses. When I’m not working I enjoy socializing over food with some good music."

Rinku Teaches:
RUQAIYA GOAWALA

Ruqaiya Goawala is a passionate speech and drama educator who believes every child has a unique story worth sharing. Having studied speech and drama herself throughout school and college, she understands the journey of building confidence through communication.
She has trained with Raell Padamsee's Theatre Workshop, the Indo-American Society's Personality Development and Public Speaking programmes, and Dale Carnegie. She has also completed Speech and Drama examinations from Trinity College London and Communication Skills examinations from the University of West London.
She believes, "Every child has a voice that deserves to be heard; sometimes they simply need the confidence to let it shine." Her mission is to help young learners become confident, expressive, and authentic communicators.
Ruqaiya Teaches:
RUKSHANA MOHAN
Rukshana has spent over a decade teaching pre-primary children with unwavering passion. Coming from a family of educators, she upholds a legacy of inspiring young minds. For more than ten years, Rukshana has been associated with Vocal Academy as a proud parent and joined as a teacher last year, reflecting a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing learning environment.
With a Master's degree in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Education, Rukshana combines academic excellence with a love for teaching. Recognized for outstanding parent nurturing and as the best teacher in a pre-primary school, she has received several awards, showcasing dedication and excellence in the field. Outside the classroom, Rukshana enjoys reading, traveling, music, and cooking, bringing diverse experiences to enrich teaching practices.
Guided by Bob Talbert's quote, "Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best," With a genuine love for teaching, Rukshana continues to inspire and nurture students to reach their full potential.

SHWETA GUPTA
Shweta's journey was initiated at home through the homeschooling of her own children, an experience by which an understanding of what young children truly need beyond academics was developed. It was during this time that communication and emotional expression came to be recognized not as extracurricular activities, but as essential life skills that should be acquired by every child at an early age.
This philosophy is reflected in her approach as a speech and drama facilitator today. It is believed that when stage presence is embraced and confidence is nurtured from an early age, children are not merely being taught to perform; rather, a strong foundation is being laid for them to grow into self-assured individuals at every stage of life that follows.
To further strengthen her teaching practice, participation has been undertaken in numerous theatre workshops and training programs through which her skills have continued to be refined. Beyond this, she is also a self-taught apparel designer and a ukulele player, pursuits through which the role of a lifelong learner is continually embraced, allowing new discoveries to be made and personal growth to be sustained.
With every child who is taught, something new is learned in return, and this mutual exchange has remained the greatest lesson of her life.

Anjali Bhat is a passionate speech and drama educator dedicated to helping every student discover their unique voice and confidence.
She inspires young learners to communicate with clarity and expression.
She lives by the belief: "Everyone can shine; the light simply needs to fall on them in a way that reveals their unique brilliance." Her mission is to help every child find that light.

Deepak Morris is a theatre practitioner, director, writer and communication enthusiast with
a passion for using the performing arts as a tool for expression, confidence and personal
growth.
His journey in theatre spans several decades, during which he has been involved in acting,
directing, writing, and training performers. He believes that theatre is not merely about
performance, but about discovering one's voice, understanding human behaviour, and
learning to connect meaningfully with others.
Deepak’s approach to teaching combines creativity, discipline and practical experience. He
encourages students to develop clarity of speech, confidence in presentation, imagination
and the ability to communicate with authenticity.
Having worked with performers across age groups, he believes that every individual has a
unique story and that the role of a teacher is to help students find the courage and skill to
express it.

With a passion, drive and motivation that fills the room, Aparna loved dramatics and appeared for various examinations herself, including graded examinations in Oral Communication as well as Speech & Drama from the University of West London. Besides teaching, she was also passionate about learning even more and has currently completed her professional diploma titled the 'Associate of Trinity College London' in Public Speaking.
She said, "I am a creative, interactive, goal oriented and student-centred teacher. I strive to create a happy and stimulating environment providing children with rich, varied and spontaneous experiences giving them the freedom to express themselves and perform their best in the areas of speech, communication and acting ."
