VOCALVOCAL

SHAARAV NARANG

My experience at Vocal has been one of the biggest foundations and the kick-starter to my dream of becoming an actor. It has taught me how to go up on stage without feeling nervous, made me a better orator, and has given me endless opportunities to reach outside my comfort zone and made me fall in love with the art of acting and performing.

I joined Vocal at the mere age of five and have appeared for countless exams, whether it be in Acting, Speech and Drama, or even Oral Communication.

A few of my proudest moments have been when I took part in the Vocal Fest and

performed my pieces in front of hundreds of people annually, and when I received a Distinction for my Diploma LCM in Oral Communication and was called to present my piece and explain the process in front of the other aspiring diploma candidates.

Vocal has truly shaped me as an individual and has given me the confidence to speak in front of hundreds of people.

HASSAN DEKHANI

University of Liverpool, UK

Growing up, I was a shy child who rarely spoke and was often described as “very quiet”.  Joining Vocal changed that.

My experience at Vocal has truly been wonderful. The incredible training I received has benefited me not only in the form of the many performances and examinations I gave, including the coveted certification of ATCL - Associate of Trinity College London, but also in my daily life. Communicating with people from various walks of life, especially as a student abroad, has not just become easy, but second-nature. I find myself adjusting to people effortlessly, even in my travels, and it’s all thanks to the various skills I picked up over my many years at Vocal.

Tracy ma’am has been a pillar of guidance from day one, encouraging my love for reading, boosting my morale and confidence, and inculcating the various techniques that are employed by skilled communicators. Lisa ma’am has been a stellar mentor, and I have consistently found her lessons to be informative and amazingly fun! The various other trainers who taught me have also been crucial figures in shaping the way I communicate today.

Vocal has always been a home away from home, and I will always remain a proud alumnus of this amazing institute.

ANUSHKA ATHWANI

Vocal has been an integral part of my life. Since I was six years old, it has been a place where I've learned, grown, and discovered who I am. Looking back, I can honestly say that Vocal has shaped not just my communication skills, but the way I think, learn, and present myself to the world.

One of the biggest gifts Vocal gave me was a love for reading. I don't just enjoy books because they're entertaining, I love them because I was taught here to appreciate stories, language, and the power of ideas. The media I consume, the way I interpret it, and even how I express myself today have all been influenced by my years at Vocal.

Some of my happiest memories are the little moments that have stayed with me over the years. I'll never forget repeating, "A box of biscuits, a box of mixed biscuits and a biscuit mixer," over and over again. It's funny looking back now, but those exercises taught me so much about articulation, confidence, and enjoying the learning process. That's what makes Vocal so special; it constantly pushes you to be better than you were yesterday while making every class enjoyable. No matter how nervous you are when you walk into class, you always leave with a smile on your face.

Vocal has helped me grow immensely, both personally and professionally. As someone pursuing science, I've realised that communication is just as important in a laboratory as it is on a stage. Even scientists need to communicate their findings effectively, and Vocal has gone above and beyond in helping me develop those presentation and communication skills. The confidence I built here has stayed with me at university, in the workplace, and in every opportunity I've taken on.

Completing my Fellowship of the London College of Music (FLCM) in Performance through Vocal was one of the most rewarding milestones of my journey. The qualification strengthened my CV and played a significant role in helping me secure admission to Queen Mary University of London. More importantly, it gave me the confidence to approach interviews, presentations, and new challenges with self-belief.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. It truly is a place for everyone, regardless of age or experience. Whether you're looking to improve your speaking, writing, and listening skills, discover your potential as an actor, prepare for college interviews, strengthen your professional communication, or simply become a more confident version of yourself, Vocal provides the guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to help you grow.

For me, Vocal has been far more than an institute—it has been a second home and a place that has shaped the person I am today. The lessons I've learned here continue to influence every aspect of my life, and I know they always will.

PRERNA DASWANI

Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication, Pune

My overall experience at Vocal was genuinely exceptional. It became much more than a place to improve my communication skills, it was where I discovered my confidence, found my voice, and grew into the person I am today. Vocal gave me the courage to speak up, trust my opinions, and never be afraid of being the only voice in the room with a different perspective.

Some of my fondest memories are of the countless discussions, debates, and classroom conversations that challenged me to think critically and express myself with confidence. Looking back, I realise that every interaction helped me grow, not just as a speaker, but as an individual. Vocal didn't simply teach me how to communicate effectively; it helped me understand who I wanted to be.

The impact Vocal had on my life extends far beyond the classroom. Personally, it transformed the way I viewed myself. Before joining, I was far more hesitant to share my thoughts and opinions. Today, I'm comfortable speaking with conviction, expressing my ideas confidently, and standing by them even when they differ from everyone else's. That confidence has become one of the greatest gifts Vocal has given me.

Professionally, Vocal played a significant role in shaping my career. I went on to pursue a career in Public Relations, and I genuinely don't think I would be where I am today without the foundation Vocal provided. While the qualifications and achievements were certainly valuable, it was the confidence, communication skills, and ability to connect with people that made the biggest difference. Those are the qualities that continue to serve me every day in my profession.

One achievement that I'm especially proud of is receiving the Excellence Award for Curricular, Co-curricular, and Extracurricular Achievements at SCMC.

Looking back, I can confidently say that the communication skills, confidence, and willingness to take on new opportunities that I developed at Vocal played an important role in helping me reach that milestone.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. It provides a safe and encouraging environment where you can discover your own voice, trust your instincts, and become comfortable expressing yourself without fear of judgement. Whether your goals involve college admissions, interviews, leadership, corporate communication, public speaking, or simply becoming a more confident person, Vocal equips you with skills that stay with you for life.

A huge part of who I am today, both personally and professionally comes from the confidence, exposure, and opportunities Vocal gave me. It didn't just teach me how to communicate; it taught me to believe in myself, and that's something I'll always be grateful for.

HAYA MOLOO

Completing my DipLCM with Vocal was an incredibly rewarding journey. The experience helped me grow in confidence, communication, and creativity while giving me skills that continue to benefit me in both my academic and personal life. Looking back, some of my fondest memories are of brainstorming speech ideas with Ms. Lisa. Every class was an opportunity to explore new perspectives, think creatively, and develop my own voice in a supportive and encouraging environment.

The classes and examinations challenged me to communicate clearly, perform confidently, and think on my feet. Over the years, the consistent training helped me become comfortable delivering impromptu speeches without hesitation—something I once found intimidating. Vocal not only improved my public speaking and performance abilities but also taught me how to express myself with confidence in any situation.

One of the things I appreciated most about Vocal was the encouragement and guidance provided by the teachers throughout every stage of the journey. Whether it was preparing for examinations, refining speeches, or building confidence before a performance, I always felt supported. Their belief in each student creates an environment where you're encouraged to be yourself while constantly striving to improve.

The skills I developed at Vocal have opened many doors for me. I have had the opportunity to host and anchor multiple school events, moderate webinars for international audiences, and take on leadership roles that required strong communication and confidence. Completing my DipLCM also became a valuable addition to my college portfolio and played an important role in helping me secure offers from universities in the United Kingdom.

I would absolutely recommend Vocal to anyone considering it. Vocal gives you the confidence to be yourself while helping you develop lifelong skills in communication, public speaking, creativity, leadership, and performance. From the very first class to the final examination, every student is supported, encouraged, and challenged to become the best version of themselves. It is an experience that extends far beyond earning a qualification—it equips you with confidence and skills that stay with you for life.

DAVINA CHELLIAH

My overall experience at Vocal was incredibly meaningful. I joined in fifth grade, and looking back, it played a huge role in shaping the person I am today. Through the various Speech and Drama examinations, I was encouraged to explore new topics, think creatively, and express myself with confidence. Over time, I realised that creativity and communication were not just skills I was developing, but passions I genuinely wanted to pursue further.

One of my fondest memories was working on improvisation and character exercises during class. I found improvisation quite intimidating when I first started, but those sessions gradually became some of the most enjoyable parts of my Vocal journey. Experimenting with different scenarios, creating characters, and thinking on the spot made every class exciting and memorable.

Vocal helped me become much more confident in the way I speak and express my ideas.

Before joining, I often hesitated while speaking, especially in front of an audience. As the years went by, I became more comfortable communicating, thinking on my feet, and sharing my opinions with confidence. The programme also encouraged me to become more expressive and creative. Many of the activities and examinations challenged me to try things I normally would have avoided, and those experiences helped me grow beyond my comfort zone.'

The skills I developed at Vocal continue to benefit me today. I am currently pursuing Branding and Entrepreneurship in college, where confidence, creativity, and communication play an important role every day. Vocal gave me a strong foundation that continues to influence how I approach presentations, collaborate with others, and tell compelling stories.

One of the achievements I am most proud of since completing Vocal has been joining one of my college theatre clubs, where I currently serve as the Head of Proscenium. I have also performed in several productions, including lead roles, which has allowed me to continue exploring my passion for theatre and performance while developing my leadership skills.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. It helps you grow in ways you do not always recognise immediately. Even small improvements in communication and confidence have a lasting impact on every aspect of life. Vocal teaches skills that go far beyond examinations and certifications. It helps you become more confident in expressing yourself, communicating with others, thinking creatively, and carrying yourself with confidence. Those are qualities that continue to open doors long after your time at Vocal has ended.

BENJAMIN COLVIN

University of Canberra, Australia

My experience at Vocal, both as a student and later as a trainer, has been truly incredible. It has been a journey filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences. Looking back, I can confidently say that I left Vocal as a far more confident and competent individual, especially in communication, drama, and public speaking. The supportive environment and guidance from my teachers challenged me to constantly improve and encouraged me to reach my full potential.

Vocal played a significant role in shaping me both personally and professionally. During my time there, I completed my Grade 8 in Acting, an Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Public Speaking, and an Associate Diploma (ALCM) in Electric Guitar. These qualifications not only strengthened my skills as a performer but also qualified me to teach these disciplines. More importantly, they gave me the confidence to perform, communicate, and connect with audiences naturally and effectively.

One of the greatest milestones of my journey was achieving a Distinction of 90% in my ATCL in Public Speaking. Preparing for this examination under the guidance of Miss Kimber D'Souza was an unforgettable experience. Her dedication, encouragement, and expertise pushed me to achieve my very best and made the journey as rewarding as the result itself.

This qualification became a valuable addition to my academic profile and played an important role in helping me pursue a Master's Degree in Teaching at the University of Canberra. Beyond opening academic opportunities, the training I received at Vocal equipped me with the communication, presentation, and teaching skills that continue to benefit me in my career as an educator.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. One of its greatest strengths is the wide range of internationally recognised subjects and examinations it offers. Whether your goal is to become a more confident speaker, a stronger performer, or a skilled communicator, the trainers at Vocal are committed to helping you grow. The encouragement, high standards, and personalised guidance ensure that every student leaves not only with valuable qualifications but also with greater confidence, stronger communication skills, and the ability to succeed in any path they choose.

RIYAA MENON

My overall experience at Vocal has been incredibly enriching. Having grown up attending classes with some of my favourite teachers and mentors has played a huge role in shaping the person I am today. Over the course of my 12-year journey at Vocal, I developed into a much more confident version of myself. It was always a warm, welcoming environment where I felt comfortable expressing my thoughts, trying new things, and growing without fear of judgement.

Looking back, every memory I have of Vocal is a fond one. It became a place where I could truly be myself, and every conversation I shared with my teachers left a lasting impact on me. Their encouragement, guidance, and belief in my potential gave me the confidence to challenge myself and continue striving for excellence.

The qualifications and mentorship I received at Vocal have helped me become a more well-rounded individual. Earning a Diploma in Oral Communication, along with several other internationally recognised certifications, has strengthened my academic profile and will play an important role in my upcoming college applications. Beyond the qualifications themselves, the communication and public speaking skills I developed have benefited me in countless ways. They have helped me perform confidently in important interviews, communicate effectively in group discussions, and deliver presentations at school with far greater confidence than I ever thought possible.

The confidence and communication skills I gained at Vocal continue to influence every aspect of my life, from academics to everyday interactions. They have taught me not only how to speak well, but also how to think critically, express myself clearly, and approach new opportunities with confidence.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone, and in fact, I already have. The impact it has had on my life is something I genuinely want others to experience as well. Whether you are looking to build confidence, improve your communication skills, prepare for interviews, or simply become a more expressive and capable individual, Vocal provides the support, guidance, and encouragement to help you achieve your goals. It is an experience that stays with you long after your classes have ended.

GAURAV JAGWANEE

My experience at Vocal was truly amazing. From the countless hours spent learning and preparing for performances to the endless conversations that happened before and after class, every moment contributed to shaping the person I am today. Vocal was more than just a place to learn communication and drama. It became a place where I grew in confidence, discovered my strengths, and built memories that I will always cherish.

One of the biggest ways Vocal impacted me was by helping me overcome my fear of performing on stage. Standing in front of an audience felt incredibly daunting at first, but through consistent practice, encouragement, and guidance, it gradually became second nature. Vocal also had a tremendous impact on both my spoken and written English, helping me communicate with greater confidence and clarity in every aspect of my life.

The skills I developed at Vocal opened many doors for me. It became a crucial stepping stone in my journey as a performer and inspired my continued interest in theatre and the performing arts. Even today, I continue to pursue opportunities on stage because of the confidence and passion that Vocal helped instil in me.

Some of the experiences I am most proud of include participating in acting workshops, playing key roles in multiple school productions, helping organise a TEDx event, and studying theatre as a subject throughout my school years. Looking back, I can clearly see how the foundation I built at Vocal prepared me for each of these opportunities.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. Public speaking and effective communication are essential skills in today's world, regardless of the career you choose. Vocal provides the guidance, encouragement, and practical experience needed to become a confident communicator while also helping students discover their creative potential. It is an experience that shapes you not only as a performer, but as a person, and the lessons you learn stay with you long after you leave the classroom.

VIVAAN ARYA

My overall experience at Vocal has been fantastic. I still remember being a 10-year-old walking into my very first class, where I gave a short presentation on the latest book I had read. From that day onwards, Vocal has played a monumental role in my journey as an actor, public speaker, and, most importantly, as an individual. Looking back, I can't remember a time when I wasn't excited to attend class because Vocal created an environment where every lesson was insightful, engaging, and genuinely fun. Every experience challenged me to grow while creating memories that I will always cherish.

Vocal helped me grow both personally and professionally by giving me the space to discover more about myself and build confidence in ways I never expected. As a student, I was often focused on academics and responsibilities, and Vocal gave me the opportunity to step outside that routine and reconnect with my passion for theatre. Through performances, speeches, and examinations, I became more confident in expressing myself, collaborating with others, and trusting my own abilities. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me develop communication, leadership, and self-belief—skills that continue to benefit me long after each class ended.

One of the most valuable aspects of my journey was the unwavering support of my teachers. I clearly remember my first Trinity Acting Grade 1 examination. I was terrified, nervous, and practically in tears, but Tracy Ma'am was there with the reassuring pre-exam pep talk that helped me believe in myself. Years later, before my Trinity Acting Grade 8 examination, she was still there with the same reassuring words: "Relax, you've got this. Do well!" Those moments made even the most stressful situations feel manageable.

Lisa has also been an incredible mentor throughout the years. From the countless speeches I turned up to without memorising a single word to the wonderfully bizarre speech ideas I insisted on pursuing, she always encouraged my creativity while ensuring I performed at my best. There were classes where we spent as much time discussing new songs and apps as we did rehearsing, yet somehow every conversation became part of the learning process. Looking back, those moments made the experience even more enjoyable and helped shape me into a more confident and creative person.

Professionally, the qualifications and experience I gained through Vocal strengthened my applications and played an important role in helping me gain admission to my dream university. Vocal also taught me that pursuing creative passions alongside academics can make you a far more confident, well-rounded individual.

Some of the achievements I'm most proud of, many of which were made possible because of the confidence and skills I developed at Vocal, include:

  • Delivering a TEDx Talk in front of an audience of approximately 500 people, which was later published on YouTube.
  • Successfully completing college interviews, including the interview for my dream university.
  • Achieving an A* in IGCSE Drama.
  • Winning First Place in an Inter-School Theatre Competition for my monologue performance.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. It's an incredibly interactive and engaging experience that makes learning exciting rather than purely academic. The classes encourage creativity and provide the freedom to express yourself through acting, public speaking, storytelling, and performance, all while working towards internationally recognised qualifications.

What makes Vocal truly special is the way it combines creativity with practical skill-building. It doesn't just prepare you for examinations; it helps you become a better communicator, a more confident performer, and someone who isn't afraid to think differently or step onto a stage. The lessons I learned at Vocal have stayed with me far beyond the classroom, and I know they will continue to shape my journey for years to come.

AYAT GABRANI

I have made some of the best memories of my life at Vocal, and I genuinely miss it every day. Looking back, I realise just how much of an impact it had on my personal growth. Vocal gave me the confidence, communication skills, and opportunities that helped me achieve many of my aspirations. It was a place where I felt encouraged to challenge myself, grow as a person, and become more comfortable expressing who I am.

As someone who struggled with social anxiety, Vocal completely transformed the way I viewed public speaking. It gradually helped me overcome my fears by giving me opportunities to perform and present in front of audiences in a supportive environment. Through consistent practice and guidance, I learned how to command a stage, use my voice effectively, and engage an audience with confidence. Those are skills that continue to benefit me every day.

The confidence I developed at Vocal has allowed me to speak at advocacy events and conferences on a variety of important topics. I have had the opportunity to use my voice to create meaningful conversations and connect with diverse audiences, something I never imagined I would be comfortable doing before joining Vocal.

One of the achievements I am most proud of has been advocating for differently abled individuals by hosting a fashion show where I shared my personal story. I have also launched a podcast that focuses on advocacy across a range of important subjects. In addition, I was invited back to my former high school to deliver a speech as an alumnus, and I am looking forward to speaking at my new high school as well. These opportunities have been possible because Vocal gave me the confidence to believe in my voice and the skills to communicate with purpose.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Vocal to anyone. The community is incredibly nurturing, supportive, and encouraging, making it a place where every student feels empowered to grow. Vocal has genuinely shaped the person I am today by helping me become more confident, articulate, expressive, authentic, and poised. The lessons I learned there extend far beyond the classroom, and I know they will continue to guide me throughout my life.

MARYAM ENGINEER

I have been a part of the Vocal community since the age of 3 and looking back, it is hard to imagine growing up without it.

Over the years, Vocal has shaped me in ways that go far beyond exams and performance. From learning to read aloud and speak confidently in my earliest years, to eventually receiving my Diploma in Oral Communication and multiple other certifications that contributed to strengthening my college portfolio. Every step of that journey was guided by teachers who were truly invested. Tracy ma'am has watched me grow not just as a student, but as a person offering support and encouragement that extended well beyond the classroom and into my own character development. Lizelle ma'am is one of my dearest mentors I have had the privilege of meeting, and I am so grateful that Vocal brought her into my life.

The memories I carry from Vocal are ones I will always treasure from the last minute practice sessions, the nerves before every exam, trying to complete my speech on time and of course, the iconic Christmas parties that were the highlight of every year growing up.

Vocal is not just an institute. It is a community that stays with you. It has given me my voice quite literally and it will always be a deeply cherished part of who I am.

RUHAAN CHAWLA

London School of Economics, UK

I have been attending classes at Vocal since I was a 5 year old boy. Countless practice sessions, monologues and presentations has made me into a confident individual.

Under the guidance of Tracy ma’am and Lisa ma’am, I have appeared for Oral communication exams from the University of West London where I have achieved high distinctions.

The skills learnt at Vocal has helped me participate in many events at school and successfully host multiple events. I am forever grateful to have been a student at Vocal for over 10 years.

Thanks to Vocal, I have received an offer from the London School of Economics for B.Sc. in Business Management!

SARAH DEKHANI

MIT Institute of Design, Loni

As a proud member of VOCAL for almost 15 years, I can confidently say that this institute has been a defining part of my life. Not only have I been a student, but I have also had the honour of teaching at VOCAL, which has been an equally enriching experience.

VOCAL has given me the tools to communicate confidently and effectively in all aspects of my life. Through the rigorous training and guidance of the amazing instructors, I have honed my acting and public speaking skills and achieved my Fellowship of the London College of Music (FLCM) in Public Speaking. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the unwavering support and encouragement of the VOCAL community.

Throughout my time at VOCAL, I have faced challenges and obstacles, but the nurturing environment and the motivation from my teachers and fellow students have pushed me to grow and improve. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for VOCAL, and I am honoured to be a part of this amazing institute that has transformed me into a confident communicator.

I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers, especially Kimberly D’Souza and Lisa Lewis, for their guidance, patience, and unwavering support. I will cherish the memories and skills I have acquired at VOCAL for the rest of my life.

SIDDHANT KALE

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Looking back on my childhood, Vocal always brings a smile to my face. It was my weekly escape from the monotony of school work and studies, a place where I could let loose and have fun. Making new friends and skipping two hours of studying were just bonuses. At the time, practising extempores, impromptu mimes, and monologues may have seemed like mere fun activities, but little did I know that they would prove to be the foundation for my success and growth.

Not only did these classes enhance my communication skills, but they also taught me valuable life lessons that have shaped me into the person I am today. Through Vocal, I learned the importance of time management as I had to balance my class with my other commitments. Prioritizing my tasks to ensure that I met my goals while still enjoying my passion was a skill that has been instrumental in my personal and professional life, enabling me to accomplish more in less time.

Furthermore, it taught me the significance of practice and hard work. I realized that to excel in any field, I must put in the hours, practice consistently, and be committed to continuous improvement. This lesson has been vital in my academic and career endeavors, where I have learned to embrace challenges and persist in the face of obstacles.

Finally, Vocal taught me the ability to receive and appreciate criticism. I learned to listen carefully to feedback, absorb it, and make necessary changes. This skill has helped me grow both personally and professionally, as I have learned to accept constructive criticism and leverage it to improve myself.

These skills have been instrumental in my holistic development. The ability to think on my feet, persuade others, and take charge of situations has been critical in securing internships and jobs. Similarly, my vocal training has equipped me with the skills necessary to lead teams, manage projects, and engage with others through effective communication and presentation. And the practice and delivery of monologues with emotion and precision have helped me craft impressive startup pitches, wow investors, and secure funding.

As I reflect on these successes, I will never forget the tireless dedication of Tracy Ma'am. Her unwavering commitment to my growth and development has been a significant factor in me securing 2 internships, leading 4 engineering clubs, and securing $50,000 in funding for my startup. The confidence and ease with which I approach any speaking engagement or leadership opportunity is a testament to the impact of my childhood Vocal classes.

From vocal projection to stage presence, these skills are now an intrinsic part of who I am, and I know that they will continue to serve me well in all aspects of my life. I am grateful for the countless hours that Tracy Maam, Lisa Maam, and the faculty put in, making me a better communicator and a better person.

MUSKAAN ARORA

Being a student and teacher at vocal has been an overwhelming experience. The preparation for my Diploma in Public Speaking – ATCL (Associate of Trinity College London) has not only taught me how to speak fluently and perform confidently but, has made me realise that the only source of knowledge is experiencing things in life. During the course of this diploma, I applied to several colleges. To my surprise, I received offers from colleges worldwide stating that I will be awarded a minimum 75% scholarship for my achievements and work experience.

Vocal provided a great base and platform for me to grow as an individual. There were some tough times but, my overall experience is something that will guide me in some way or the other the rest of my career. I’d like to specially thank my teacher, Kimberly D’Souza for making me the person I am today. I have been a student at Vocal for over ten years now, and I can proudly say, that when I leave, I will take nothing but memories and unforgettable tales with me.
